NewKarma's Week in Review

I honestly don’t know where to start…this week was INSANE.

1st my mother calls me and tells me that my lil bro broke his hand … “How did he do that Ma?” I ask. He tried to break a woman’s window that crashed which she was having a seizure. Now he is all pissed off because he just bought a new motorcycle last weekend that he can’t ride. (( The hater sister in me says “te he he”))

2nd my best friend from high school calls…she has cancer in her stomach and it just spread to her lungs and kidneys. She is currently on oxygen and would like me to come back to Los Angeles in October. (( Wow! This information floored me she is my second friend to discover that they have cancer in 3 months)).

3rd I was offered a part-time position at the High Museum. I am absolutely excited about the new job and the extra cash. (( I start next Thursday )).

4th I’ve been obsessed with the TV show Big Brother All Stars this season and this week I ordered the live feeds for the free 14 days, now I am ADDICTED. I almost missed my interview at the High because I was waiting to see if Howie got evicted.

5th my grandma turned “85” this week (actually she is 87 but she keeps saying that she is 85 for I just let her keep saying it). My grandma ROCKS! I love you grandma and Happy Birthday!

Stay in the Light!

I always use this phrase at the end of my emails...STAY IN THE LIGHT....but I never really had to embrace its full meaning until today. A good friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago (( he is only 33 years old )). He went in for a regular check-up and came out with throat cancer. His girlfriend made him go in - she recognized that it was her mission to move him from darkness. Today as he and I talked all I could think about is how blessed he was to catch the cancer when he did. He was brought into the light for a reason...and his girlfriend was strong enough to recognize her mission was to get him to the doctor although she had no idea why her mission was so determined. It was so that it could be caught early and cured!

I believe that we are always given signs of what our life missions are...short term and long term, but we have to have the determination required to bring us into the light. Sometimes we are comfortable in our darkness. But we must recognize that these things are happening for a reason, embrace it, and learn from it.

Stay in the Light!

Welcome to my Photo Diary

I've recently became obsessed with taking pictures around Atlanta, GA. What better way to share the way I see Atlanta than via a Photo Diary.

Sit back, relax and enjoy.

Peace and Blessings, New Karma
